Alignment Color in Two Viewports

The other day I had a call from a client who was tasked with the duty of taking an alignment which they have already spent months referencing in their design and splitting it into two separate alignments to represent two separate phases.  They did not want to do this because they already had many labels and profiles from this alignment.  We came up with the solution of adding a station equation and then adjusting the alignment color within the viewports to represent two different phases.  However, the adjustment of the color was not as easy as we thought it would be and the solution was not directly evident.  Take a look at this video for the answer:
