I received an exciting email yesterday, which contained a new and noteworthy announcement that Autodesk has just introduced the Next Generation Integrated CAM for Inventor. Autodesk is continually adding to it's portfolio of products, and making those tools available to it's user base, at extremely affordable prices. After two months of beta testing by nearly 1,000 participants, Autodesk has released Autodesk Inventor HSM Express ... for Free! View the story of HSMWorks and the HSM Express announcement from EMO, in Hannover, Germany, here.
I immediately went to the CAM page of the Autodesk website to learn more and to get my free software at, http://cam.autodesk.com/. To get it for yourself, once on the landing page, simply click on the blue button that says "Get Inventor HSM Express".
Then, simply fill in the request form and read and agree to the EULA and Privacy Notice, then click Submit.
You will then be sent an email with a license code, and you can begin your download from the website. The download and install are painless, to say the least, and the installer even installs SP1 of Inventor 2014, so if you haven't installed it yet, there is no need to go install it manually. Once complete, you will see the following notice regarding file locations for maintenance.
When you launch Inventor, you will receive the Activation dialog box below. Simply add the email address you used to request the license file, and then paste or type the license number you received in your email, then click Active.
Now, go explore Autodesk's newest free offering for the manufacturing industry.
