One workflow we’ve been hearing more and more about from our customers is with AutoCAD Mobile on the iPad. Using AutoCAD Mobile, you can quickly & easily sketch while out in the field. One thing that’s nice about AutoCAD Mobile is that as soon as your connected to Wi-Fi, it automatically uploads to your BIM 360 Team / A360 Drive. You can also link a folder to a document management system like Box, Dropbox, etc., to leverage your capabilities there in addition to BIM 360 Team / A360 Drive.

In the video above, I’ve highlighted how you can leverage this workflow to send your sketches wherever you need them automatically using 360 Sync, and we will detail the workflow out below.

Basically, the workflow is this:

1) You make your sketch in AutoCAD Mobile. When you’re done, you close your model.

2) As soon as your iPad is connected to Wi-Fi, it automatically syncs with BIM 360 Team / A360 Drive, and also updates any linked folders you may have.

3) Next, you’ll need to setup a 360 Sync configuration between your BIM 360 project, your computer/server, and/or your Document Management System (Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, Google Docs, Sharefile, etc.). You could even link with Vault or Sharepoint if your workflow calls for it.
